Whilst it may be starting to appear a little more spring like outside, we’re still a while off yet & the chill of winter is still in the air.
March always starts with a bang here in Wales as we celebrate St David’s Day on March 1st, donning daffodils & scoffing Welsh Cakes.
March 17th also brings us St Patrick’s Day.
The best of the citrus season is still with us with the last of the blood oranges still available & lemons are currently at their best too.
The last of the perfectly pink forced rhubarb is still around but the newest addition to the seasonal calendar is wild garlic (or ramsons), a clear sign that spring is on its way. Whilst still young, leaves will be smaller & less pungent their great in salads at this time of year.
